Sign of the Day of Judgment: The army that attacks the House of Allah will sink into the earth

It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Near the Day of Judgment, an army will attack the Kaaba. When they reach the place called Bidaa, all of them from the beginning to the end will be swallowed by the earth. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I asked, O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), why will all of them from the beginning to the end be swallowed, while there will be their markets and people who are not part of that army? He (peace be upon him) said: Yes, all of them from the beginning to the end will be swallowed by the earth, then everyone will be raised according to their own intention.

It is narrated from Ubaidullah bin Qabtiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) that Harith bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah have mercy on him) went to Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and I was also with them. They inquired from Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) about the army that will be swallowed by the earth, and this was during the time when Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) was the ruler of Makkah. Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man will take refuge in the House of Allah, meaning Imam Mahdi, then an army will be sent against him. When that army reaches a place called Bidaa, they will be swallowed by the earth. I asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), what about those who are forced to join that army? He (peace be upon him) said: They too will be swallowed by the earth with the army, but on the Day of Judgment, they will be raised according to their intention. Abu Ja'far (may Allah have mercy on him), the narrator, says that Bidaa is a field near Madinah.

In one narration, it is mentioned that only one person from this army will be spared, who will warn people about their destruction.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Some people, few in number and with few weapons, will take refuge in the House of Allah. An army will be sent against them, which will be swallowed by the earth in a field called Bidaa.
Yusuf (may Allah have mercy on him), the narrator, said: Nowadays, the people of Sham are coming to fight the people of Makkah, meaning the army of Hajjaj bin Yusuf which used to come to fight Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him).
Abdullah bin Safwan (may Allah have mercy on him), a Tabi'i, said: By Allah! This is not that army.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) woke up from a dream and said: It is astonishing that some people of my Ummah will intend to attack the Kaaba for the sake of a Qurayshi man because he will have taken refuge in the Kaaba, and when they reach Bidaa, all will be swallowed. We said: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), people of all kinds gather to witness battles on the way. He (peace be upon him) said: Yes! Among them will be those who come with this blameworthy intention, those who come unwillingly, and those who travel, all kinds of people, and they will be destroyed all at once. Then on the Day of Judgment, they will be raised according to their respective intentions.

Benefits:

➊ Near the Day of Judgment, an army will advance to attack the Kaaba, but the entire army will be swallowed by the earth.
➋ The appearance of this sign is still pending.
➌ The reason for this army's advance towards the House of Allah will be a man who will take refuge in the Kaaba for unknown reasons. Other hadiths and indications suggest that this man will be Imam Mahdi, whom the Muslims will initially not accept. Instead, they will send an army to arrest him, but when that army is buried alive in the earth by Allah's command, people will be convinced that he is Imam Mahdi, and then they will come in crowds to pledge allegiance to him.
In one hadith, this is explicitly mentioned, although its chain of narration is weak.
➍ When the desired person takes refuge in the Kaaba, some other people will be with him, equipped with a few weapons.
➎ The army coming to attack the Kaaba will not be disbelievers but Muslims, because the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "It is astonishing that some people from my own Ummah will advance towards the Kaaba for a Quraishi man." Although the Ummah includes non-Muslim communities, here the Ummah refers to the Muslim community.
➏ Some people will accompany this army out of compulsion, some will come just to watch the spectacle, and some will be in the markets along the way for trade, while the rest of the army will come for war. Yet all of them will be buried alive in one instant, although on the Day of Judgment everyone will be raised according to their intentions.
➑ May Allah protect us from becoming part of this cursed army. آمين
