Sign of the Day of Judgment: Romans will increase greatly in number (population census)
عن المستورد الفهري رضى الله عنه أنه قال لعمرو بن العاص رضى الله عنه سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : تقوم الساعة والروم أكثر الناس ، فقال له عمرو بن العاص : أبصر ما تقول : قال : أقول ما سمعت من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : لئن قلت ذاك إن فيهم لحصالا أربعا : إنهم لأحلم الناس عند فتنة وأسرعهم إفاقة بعد مصيبة وأوشكهم كرة بعد فرة وخيرهم لمسكين ويتيم وضعيف وخامسة حسنة جميلة : وأمنعهم من ظلم الملوك
Hazrat Mastoorid رضي الله عنه said to Hazrat Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنه that I heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم that before the Day of Judgment, the Romans (Christians) will be the most numerous. Hazrat Amr رضي الله عنه said, "Think carefully about what you are saying?" Mastoorid رضي الله عنه said, "I am only saying what I heard from the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم." Amr رضي الله عنه said, "If you say so, then it is true, because Christians have four qualities:
➊ They are very patient in times of hardship.
➋ They are the quickest to become alert after hardship.
➌ After fleeing, they are the first to attack again.
➍ They are better in the rights of the poor, orphans, and the weak.
And there is a fifth quality which is very good: they are more than anyone else in preventing the oppression of kings.

Benefits:
➊ The increase of the Romans, meaning the Christians, beyond all others is a sign of the Day of Judgment which has already appeared.
➋ According to current statistics, Christians are in the first place and Muslims are in the second place.
➌ During the time of Hazrat Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him), the Christians possessed the four mentioned qualities, but it is not necessary that these qualities remain alive until the Day of Judgment. In fact, in the present era, the Christians have geared up to take revenge on the Muslims, although they are still known for better implementation of their laws and regulations compared to Muslims.
