Sign of the Day of Judgment: Animals and Inanimate Objects Will Speak to Humans

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the Day of Judgment will not come until wild animals speak to humans, and a man's stick and the strap of his shoe will also talk to him. Moreover, a man's thigh will inform him of what is being said about him by his family in his absence.
Reference: Ahmad (3/105-111), Hakim (4/514), Sharh al-Sunnah (4177), Tirmidhi (2181), Al-Silsilah al-Sahihah (1/241), Ibn Hibban (14/418), Ibn Abi Shaybah (8/664), Al-Bidayah wa al-Nihayah (6/150), Al-Bazzar (13143)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that a wolf attacked a goat and carried it away while walking. The shepherd pursued the wolf and managed to rescue the goat from it. The wolf sat in its manner and said: Do you not fear Allah that you are taking away from me a provision that Allah has decreed for me? The shepherd said in astonishment: Wolf! You are talking to me like a human? The wolf said: Should I not tell you something even stranger? Muhammad (peace be upon him) is informing the people of Yathrib (Medina) about past events. Upon hearing this, the shepherd immediately herded the goats and went to Medina and narrated his incident to the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: He has spoken the truth. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, the Day of Judgment will not come until wild animals speak to humans, a man's stick and the strap of his shoe will converse with him, and his thigh will inform him of what is being said about him in his absence at his home.

In one narration, it is mentioned that the man (the shepherd) was a Jew and after this incident, he became a Muslim.
Reference: Ahmad (2/404)

The aforementioned incident, in brief, is also found in Bukhari and Muslim, and it includes the words that when the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were amazed by this strange event and began to say SubhanAllah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
أمنت به وأبو بكر وعمر
I, Abu Bakr, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) believe in it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) finished the Fajr prayer, then turning towards the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), he said: A man was herding a cow for farming purposes when suddenly it mounted him and started beating him. The cow said: We were not created for this (riding), rather we were created for farming. Upon this, the people exclaimed in astonishment, saying: Does the cow speak? The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I, Abu Bakr, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) believe in it.

Benefits:

➊ Animals and inanimate objects communicating with humans is a sign of the Day of Judgment.
➋ The communication of animals has been established since the Prophetic era, however, the communication of inanimate objects will also become apparent.
➌ The Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, were amazed that animals could also converse, and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, responded affirmatively, saying that he believed it was possible.
➍ The Being, Allah Almighty, who has given humans the power of speech, can, whenever He wills, also grant the power of speech to animals and inanimate objects. ان الله على كل شئ قدير
➎ The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, confirmed the statement of a Jew that a wolf spoke to him, while many unfortunate people among us do not consider the mentioned prophecy (Hadith) of Allah’s beloved, the leader of the Prophets, the Imam of mankind and jinn, the Seal of the Prophets, peace be upon him, to be true. For satisfactory answers to their objections, please refer to the reality of prophecies.
