Should We Abandon Treatment Due to Doctors' Mistakes?

❖ Mistakes of Medical Practitioners and the Question of Abandoning Treatment ❖
Authored by: Dr. Raza Abdullah Pasha ḥafiẓahullāh

❖ Question:

Since medical practitioners often make mistakes, is it better for us to abandon treatment altogether?

❖ Answer:

Absolutely not.
There is a remedy even for mistakes. We present a systematic approach that should not be deviated from. As for errors, they are bound to happen — everyone can make mistakes.

Doctors too can err, and in the field of medicine, such mistakes may lead to dangerous consequences. But does that mean we should stop seeking treatment or using medicine? Similarly, engineers make errors — should we then stop constructing buildings?

The real solution lies in holding the negligent accountable and penalizing them as required.

However, if we completely shut this door (of proper treatment), we will be compelled to turn to sorcerers and charlatans, or even non-Muslims for help.
Hence, Islam remains the most superior and comprehensive religion.
