✿ Question:
Please clarify the reality of the phrase which is nowadays commonly used in place of Bismillah.
✿ Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
There is no evidence in the Qur’an or Sunnah to support using such words in place of Bismillah.
The phrase commonly used today as a substitute for Bismillah has no basis in the Sharīʿah, and therefore one must adhere to the authentic wording taught in the Sunnah.
