If a girl sees an obscene picture and, as a result, a sticky fluid is discharged, is ghusl (ritual bath) obligatory upon her?

Question:
If a girl sees an obscene picture and, as a result, a sticky fluid is discharged, is ghusl (ritual bath) obligatory upon her?
Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
- The fluid discharged due to bad thoughts, obscene images, or immoral temptations is called madhy.
- The discharge of madhy does not make clothes impure in a way that requires complete washing of the whole garment, nor does it make ghusl obligatory.
- In such a case, only istinjāʾ (washing the private parts) and wuḍūʾ are required.
- For further details, see Dār al-Iftāʾ Fatwā No. 11926.
