❀ Shar‘i Limit of Moustaches: Ruling on Trimming and Shaving ❀

Is there any Shar‘i limit prescribed for trimming the moustache?
Alḥamdulillāh, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:
◄ Some Hadith wordings indicate that the skin beneath the moustache should become visible, i.e., it should be trimmed so short that the upper lip is exposed.
◄ However, this should be done through cutting (قَصّ)—not by shaving (حَلق).
In other words, trimming the moustache closely is Sunnah, but completely shaving it off is not the correct method.
هَذَا مَا عِنْدِي وَاللّٰهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالصَّوَابِ
This is what I have, and Allah knows best what is correct.
