Sharʿi Ruling on Relations and Greeting a Person Who Commits Shirk

Should one greet (salām) a person who commits shirk with Allah? And is it permissible to maintain eating, drinking, and worldly relations with such a person? Please clarify this matter.
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, Ammā baʿd:
If a person adheres to the fundamental pillars of Islam such as:
◈ Kalima
◈ Ṣalāh (prayer)
◈ Zakāh
◈ Ṣawm (fasting)
◈ Ḥajj
then he should be treated as a Muslim.
Worldly relations may be maintained with him in such a way that they encourage him to abandon shirk. The aim of such relations should be to draw him towards the religion and distance him from shirk.
