Responding After the Recitation of a Sūrah: Sharʿī Ruling and Clarification

Question:
Is it correct for the follower (maʾmūm) to respond after the Imām completes the recitation of a sūrah in prayer?
Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
When the Imām recites during prayer and completes a sūrah, it is not permissible for the follower (maʾmūm) to respond aloud or in a noticeable voice.
Prayer is a special form of worship in which silence, humility, and concentration must be observed. For the follower to speak out loud during the recitation of the Imām contradicts the etiquettes of ṣalāh.
Hādhā mā ʿindī, wallāhu aʿlam bi-ṣ-ṣawāb.
