Question
Is chanting slogans in gatherings and conferences permissible? And what about slogans such as “Zindah Bād,” “Pāindah Bād,” or “As long as the sun and moon remain, so-and-so’s name will remain”? Some scholars even present evidence from the Qur’an for this.
Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
✿ There is no evidence in the Qur’an or Sunnah for chanting slogans in gatherings and conferences.
