Slaughter the Sacrificial Animal with Your Own Hands​


أن رسول الله صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نحر بعض هديه بيده ونحر غيره بعضه.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Ansari رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم slaughtered some of his sacrificial animals with his own hands, and some of his animals were slaughtered by others.

Jurisprudence:​


➊ It is better and preferable that a person slaughter his own sacrificial animal, but if he has someone else slaughter it, that is also permissible.
➋ Appointing an agent is permissible.
➌ In this hadith, "others" refers to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib رضي الله عنه as established by another narration.
