Is there any sūrah of the Qur’ān that nullifies all types of magic?
It is narrated from Abū Umāmah al-Bāhilī (RA) that he said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
‘Recite the Qur’ān, for indeed it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions. Recite the two shining ones (al-Zahrāwān), Sūrat al-Baqarah and Sūrat Āl ʿImrān, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they were two clouds, or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recited them. Recite Sūrat al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, abandoning it is a regret, and the al-bāṭilah (the false ones) cannot withstand it.’” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, 5130]
Explanation:
These two sūrahs are a divine shield against the plots of magicians and a great source of blessing for those who recite and practice them.
Question:
Is there any sūrah of the Qur’ān that nullifies all types of magic?
Answer:
It is narrated from Abū Umāmah al-Bāhilī (RA) that he said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:

Recite the two shining ones (al-Zahrāwān), Sūrat al-Baqarah and Sūrat Āl ʿImrān, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they were two clouds, or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recited them. Explanation:
- Muʿāwiyah (RA) said: “I have heard that by al-bāṭilah is meant the magicians.”
- The Mufassirīn state that al-Zahrāwān (the two shining ones) is a title given to Sūrat al-Baqarah and Āl ʿImrān because of their light, guidance, and immense reward.
