A person works in a government office where, in the washroom, tissue paper is used instead of water. After using tissue paper for istinja, can he perform wudu and offer salah?
❀ Answer:
The purpose of istinja is cleanliness. Although this cleanliness can be achieved through tissue paper, performing istinja with tissue paper alone is not proper. Istinja is valid with water or stones, while in a state of necessity, tissue paper may be used for istinja.
