Ruling on the Days of Tashrīq in Light of Qur’ān and Ḥadīth

What is the ruling regarding the Days of Tashrīq?
❖ Answer
The three days after Yawm al-Naḥr (11th, 12th, and 13th Dhul-Ḥijjah) are called the Days of Tashrīq.
❖ Evidence from the Qur’ān
Allah ﷻ says:
﴿وَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ فِي أَيَّامٍ مَعْدُودَاتٍ﴾
(Sūrat al-Baqarah 2:203)
“And remember Allah during the appointed days.”
❖ Tafsīr from the Companions
◈ ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAbbās (RA) said:
((هي أيام التشريق))
“These appointed days are the Days of Tashrīq.”

This chain was graded ṣaḥīḥ by Ḥāfiẓ Ibn al-Mulaqqin (al-Badr al-Munīr 6/430) and Ḥāfiẓ Ibn Ḥajar (al-Talkhīṣ al-Ḥabīr 3/108).

◈ Ḥāfiẓ Ibn al-Mulaqqin (d. 804H):
((اتفق العلماء على أن الأيام المعدودات هي أيام التشريق، وهى ثلاثة بعد يوم النحر))
“The scholars are unanimously agreed that the appointed days (al-ayyām al-maʿdūdāt) are the Days of Tashrīq, which are the three days after Yawm al-Naḥr.”
