❖ Ruling on a Muslim Who Commits Suicide
If a Muslim kills himself mistakenly, then he is excused and not sinful for this act.
However, if a Muslim, due to hardship and distress, deliberately commits suicide—while not being displeased with Allah’s decree and destiny—then:
- He is not declared a disbeliever (kāfir),
- But he is indeed guilty of committing a major sin (kabīrah).
⚠ Severe Warning and Threat of Punishment
Such a person falls under the warning of severe punishment and torment, as reported in authentic narrations.
Nonetheless, his final matter is left to the will of Allah ﷻ:
- If Allah wills, He may forgive him out of His mercy,
- Or if He wills, He may punish him for this grave offense.
