If you are performing Ḥajj on behalf of another person, it is a prerequisite that you must have already performed your own obligatory Ḥajj.
If you have done your own Ḥajj, then:
You may choose any one of the three types of Ḥajj:
– Ifrād (only Ḥajj)
– Tamattuʿ (ʿUmrah + Ḥajj with break)
– Qirān (ʿUmrah + Ḥajj with single iḥrām)
Performing Ḥajj Ifrād is permissible, especially when funds are limited.
If perfume or fragrance touches the iḥrām, then:
✔ It must be washed off.
Ḥadīth evidence:
"Do not wear anything that has been touched by saffron or wars (types of perfume)."
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1542, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1177)
If some beard hairs fall unintentionally due to touching or stroking:
No expiation (ṣadaqah) is required, as it is due to forgetfulness or accident.
Ḥadīth evidence:
"Indeed, Allah has pardoned my ummah for mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into."
(Sunan Ibn Mājah)
If, however, the hairs are removed deliberately, then fidya (compensation) becomes necessary.
Simply having lustful thoughts in the heart:
Does not require dam or expiation, since thoughts alone are not punishable.
However:
⚠ Touching one's wife with desire, kissing, or any form of foreplay is prohibited during Ḥajj in iḥrām.
Qur'anic evidence:
"There shall be no sexual relations (rafath), no disobedience, and no quarrelling during Ḥajj."
[Sūrah al-Baqarah 2:197]
① You may perform Ḥajj Ifrād in nafl Ḥajj if funds are limited.
② Perfumed iḥrām must be washed.
③ No fidya if hairs fall unintentionally.
④ No dam for internal lustful thoughts, but avoid physical interaction.

- If fragrance touches the iḥrām, is washing it necessary?
- If some beard hairs fall off by passing a hand over it, is expiation (ṣadaqah) due?
- Do lustful thoughts in the heart require dam?
