❖ Question:
Is it permissible to make collective duʿāʾ after obligatory prayers?
❖ Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʿammā baʿd!
- Making duʿāʾ after obligatory prayers (ṣalāh maktūbah) is indeed proven from the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.
- The Prophet ﷺ also encouraged making duʿāʾ after ṣalāh.
However:
- Raising the hands for this duʿāʾ is not proven by any authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) or sound (ḥasan) marfūʿ ḥadīth.
Conclusion
- Duʿāʾ after obligatory ṣalāh is Sunnah and encouraged.
- But raising hands for this duʿāʾ has no authentic ḥadīth evidence.
