① Samak bin Harb, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samrah, may Allah be pleased with him: Did you sit with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him? He said: Yes, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to sit most of the time until the sun rose in the same place where he performed the morning prayer. When the sun rose, he would stand up. And they (the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them) used to talk about the days of ignorance and then laugh, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would smile.
