Returning Goods
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
من أقال مسلما أقال الله عز وجل عثرته
"Whoever makes a contract of sale with a Muslim and then cancels the deal (i.e., annuls the sale and takes back the goods), Allah Almighty forgives his slips."

Being Lenient in Trade
① Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
غفر لرجل كان قبلكم سهلا إذا باع ، سهلا إذا اشترى ، سهلا إذا اقتضى
"There was a man in the previous era who was forgiven because he was gentle. When he sold, he was gentle; when he bought, he was gentle; and when he demanded (a debt), he was also gentle."

② Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
رحم الله رجلا سمحا إذا باع ، وإذا اشترى ، وإذا اقتضى
"May Allah have mercy on a person who is gentle when he sells, when he buys, and when he demands (payment)."

③ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إن الله يحب سمح البيع ، سمح الشراء ، سمح القضاء
"Indeed, Allah loves gentleness in buying, selling, and settling (payment and demand)."

Showing leniency to the financially distressed
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
كان فى من قبلكم تاجر يداين الناس ، فإن رأى معسرا قال لفتيانه : تجاوزوا عنه لعل الله أن يتجاوز عنا ، فتجاوز الله عنه
"There was a merchant in the previous era. He used to lend money to people, and if he saw someone in financial difficulty, he would tell his servant boys to forgive him (waive the debt), hoping that Allah would forgive us, so Allah forgave him."

Instructions Regarding Giving Respite to the Financially Distressed
① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) reports that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
من أنظر معسرا أو وضع له ، أظله الله يوم القيامة تحت ظل عرشه يوم لا ظل إلا ظله
"Whoever gives respite to a financially distressed person or forgives his debt, Allah will grant him shade under His Throne on the Day of Resurrection, a day when there will be no shade except His shade."
