Which are the verses of healing (Āyāt al-Shifāʾ)?
❶ Sūrat al-Tawbah (9:14)
Translation:
“Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them, and He will heal the breasts of a believing people.”
❷ Sūrat al-Shuʿarāʾ (26:80)
Translation:
“And when I am ill, it is He who cures me.”
❸ Sūrat Yūnus (10:57)
Translation:
“O mankind! There has come to you an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts, and guidance and mercy for the believers.”
❹ Sūrat al-Naḥl (16:69)
Translation:
“Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord made easy for you. There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for mankind. Indeed, in that is a sign for a people who give thought.”
❺ Sūrat al-Isrāʾ (17:82)
Translation:
“And We send down in the Qur’ān that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.”
❻ Sūrat Fuṣṣilat (41:44)
Translation:
“And if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur’ān, they would have said, ‘Why are its verses not explained in detail? What! A foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?’ Say: It is, for those who believe, guidance and healing. But as for those who do not believe, in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. They are being called from a distant place.”
These Āyāt al-Shifāʾ (verses of healing) highlight that the Qur’ān itself is a source of cure, guidance, and mercy for the believers, while for the disbelievers it only increases distance and loss.
