How can I protect myself from Satan in the mosque and outside the home?
Answer:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin ʿAmr bin al-ʿAs رضی اللہ عنہما, who reported that whenever the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would enter the mosque, he would say:
『أعوذ بالله العظيم، وبوجهه الكريم، وسلطانه القديم، من الشيطان الرجيم』
“I seek refuge in Allah, the Almighty, in His Noble Face, and in His eternal sovereignty, from the accursed Satan.”
Abdullah said that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم stated: “When a man says this, Satan says:
『حفظ مني سائر اليوم』
‘He is protected from me for the rest of the day.’”
[Sunan Abi Dawood, Hadith no. 466; Sahih al-Jamiʿ, Hadith no. 4591]
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم also said:
『اللهم إني أسألك من فضلك، اللهم اعصمني من الشيطان الرجيم』
“O Allah! I ask You for Your bounty. O Allah! Protect me from the accursed Satan.”
[Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith no. 773; Sunan Ibn Majah 1/129]
