❖ It Is Not Permissible to Write on the Grave​


The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) clearly forbade writing on graves. The Hadith states:


نهي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يكتب عليه
"The Prophet (ﷺ) prohibited writing on the grave."

This authentic narration establishes that engraving names, verses, or any inscriptions on the grave is not permitted in Islam. It is part of the Prophet’s (ﷺ) guidance to maintain simplicity and humility in burial practices.
