Prohibition of treatment without medical knowledge and the belief in the contagiousness of disease

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal Nawaahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamaat o Mamnooat.

Prohibition of Treating Without Knowledge of Medicine​

① Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
من تطبب ولم يعلم منه طب فهو ضامن
"Whoever does not have knowledge of medicine but still treats (someone), then (in case of harm) he is liable."

Prohibition of Believing in the Contagiousness of Disease​

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا عدوىٰ ولا طيرة ويعجبني الفأل
"No disease is contagious, nor is there any reality in bad omen, but I like good omens."
He was asked: What is a good omen? He said:
كلمة طيبة
"A good thing."

② Sayyiduna Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما reports that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا عدوىٰ ولا طيرة ، وإنما الشؤم فى ثلاث : فى الفرس ، والمرأة ، والدار
"No disease is contagious, nor is there any reality in bad omen; misfortune is only in three things: the horse, the woman, and the house."

③ It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا عدوىٰ ولا طيرة ولا هامة ولا صفر
"The contagiousness of disease, the owl being unlucky, and the yellow color are nothing."
