① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم once saw some phlegm towards the Qibla, which displeased him so much that its effect was seen on his blessed face. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم himself stood up and wiped it with his hand and said:
إن أحدكم إذا قام فى صلاته فإنما يناجي ربه، وإن ربه بينه وبين القبلة، فلا يبزقن أحدكم قبل قبلته، ولكن عن يساره أو تحت قدميه
"When any of you stands in prayer, he is conversing with his Lord, and his Lord is between him and the Qibla. So none of you should spit towards his Qibla, but rather to his left side or under his feet." Then the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم took one edge of his cloak, spat into it, turned it over, and said:
أو يفعل هكذا
"Or he may do it like this."

② It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
البصاق فى المسجد خطيئة وكفارتها دفنها
"Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and burying it is its expiation."

① Sayyiduna Saib bin Yazid رضي الله عنه narrates, I was in the mosque when a man threw a pebble towards me. When I looked, it was Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab He said: Go and bring these two to me. So I brought them to him رضي الله عنه, and he asked: Where are you two from? They said: From Taif. He رضي الله عنه said: If you were from this city, I would have punished you. You raise your voices in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah
