Prohibition of speaking with affectation, lying to make others laugh, and mutual hatred and enmity

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.


Prohibition of Speaking Ostentatiously with an Open Mouth​


① Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
هلك المتنطعون . قالها ثلاثا.
"Those who speak ostentatiously with an open mouth are destroyed, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said this three times."

Prohibition of Telling Lies to Make People Laugh​


① Bahz bin Hakim narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather, that they heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say:
ويل للذي يحدث بالحديث ليضحك به القوم فيكذب ، ويل له ويل له
"Destruction is for the person who tells lies to make people laugh, destruction is for him, destruction is for him."

Prohibition of Mutual Hatred and Enmity​


① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
إياكم وسوء ذات البين فإنها الحالقة
"Avoid mutual hatred and enmity, for it is a trait that destroys religion."
