Rulings Regarding Things Dropped on the Ground
① It is narrated from Yazid, the freed slave of Munbaath, that he heard him say to Zaid bin Khalid that when the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was asked about picking up gold or silver lying on the ground, he said:
اعرف وكاءها وعقاصها ثم عرفها سنة فإن لم تعرف فاستنفقها ولتكن عندك وديعة فإن جاء طالبها يوما من الدهر فأدها إليه
Recognize its pouch and rope well, then announce it for a year. If no owner is found, then spend it, but you must keep it as a trust so that if the owner comes at any time, you can return it to him. Then he was asked about a camel, and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
ما لك ولها دعها فإن معها حذاءها وسقاءها ترد الماء وتأكل الشجر حتى يجدها ربها
What is my relation to it? Leave it because it has its speed and its water with it; it can come to water, eat leaves from trees, etc. Meanwhile, its owner will come. Then he was asked about a goat, and the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
خذها فإنما هي لك أو لأخيك أو للذئب
Is it for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf? Therefore, catch it and keep it close.

Prohibition of Milking Someone's Animals Without Their Permission
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا يحلبن أحد ماشية أحد إلا بإذنه أيحب أحدكم أن تؤتى مشربته فتكسر خزانته فينتقل طعامه فإنما تخزن لهم ضروع مواشيهم أطعماتهم فلا يحلبن أحد ماشية أحد إلا بإذنه
No person should milk another person's animal without their permission. Do any of you like that someone should seize your drinking water and break into your granary and take out your grain? The weakening of his animals will cause him distress. Therefore, no person should milk another person's animals without their permission.
