Prohibition of lying about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and concealing knowledge

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, which has been translated into Urdu by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.


Prohibition of Lying Against the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم​


① Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
لا تكذبوا علي، فإنه من كذب على يلج النار
"Do not lie upon me, for whoever lies upon me will enter Hell."

② Sayyiduna Mughirah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
إن كذبا على ليس ككذب علىٰ أحد، فمن كذب على متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار
"Lying upon me is not like lying upon anyone else among you, so whoever lies upon me, let him prepare his place in Hell."

③ Sayyiduna Salamah ibn Akwa, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that he heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, say:
من يقل على ما لم أقل فليتبوأ مقعده من النار
"Whoever attributes to me something which I have not said, let him prepare his place in Hell."

④ Sayyiduna Samrah ibn Jundub, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
من حدث عني بحديث يرىٰ أنه كذب، فهو أحد الكاذبين
"Whoever narrates from me a hadith which he thinks is false, then he is one of the liars."

Prohibition of Concealing Knowledge​


① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
من سئل عن علم يعلمه فكتمه، ألجم بلجام من نار
"Whoever is asked about knowledge and conceals it despite knowing it, a bridle of fire will be placed on him."

② Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
من سئل عن علم فكتمه ألجمه الله بلجام من نار يوم القيامة
"Whoever is asked about knowledge and conceals it, Allah will place a bridle of fire on him on the Day of Judgment."
