This excerpt is taken from the Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi by Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnooat.
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
من قال لأخيه: يا كافر، فقد باء بها أحدهما
“Whoever says to his (Muslim) brother: O disbeliever! then that word returns to one of the two.”
And in another narration:
إذا كفر الرجل أخاه، فقد باء بها أحدهما
“When a man declares his (Muslim) brother a disbeliever, then that word returns to one of the two.”
And in another narration:
أيما امرئ قال لأخيه: يا كافر، فقد باء بها أحدهما، إن كان كما قال وإلا رجعت عليه
“Whoever says to his (Muslim) brother: O disbeliever! then that word returns to one of the two. If he is indeed as he said, then fine; otherwise, that word returns upon the one who said it.”

① Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: "Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) had a servant who used to give him tribute, and he used to eat from that tribute. One day, he brought something, and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was hungry. So, before asking him, he took a bite of it. The servant said to him: Do you know what this is? Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: What is it? He said: In the time of ignorance, I had told a man something about the unseen, even though I had no knowledge of soothsaying; I had just deceived him. He gave me this in return. So what you have eaten is from that. Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) put his finger in his mouth and expelled everything from his stomach (vomited it out)."
