This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, which was translated into Urdu by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.
① Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man asked: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! When a person meets his brother or his friend, should he bow before him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
لاNo!
He asked: "Should he embrace him and kiss him?" He said:
لاNo!
He asked: "Should he hold his hand and shake hands with him?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
نعمYes!

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إذا أطال أحدكم الغيبة فلا يطرقن أهله ليلا
When any one of you remains away from home for a long time, he should not come to his home at night.

It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم forbade people from coming to their wives at night.
Benefit: This command is for the person who is returning from a journey, so he should not go at night, because it will cause difficulty for his wife in preparing and adorning herself. And Allah knows best.
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
إياكم والجلوس على الطرقات
Avoid sitting in the pathways.
They said: "O Messenger of Allah (PBUH)! Our gatherings take place there, we talk there." The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
فإذا أبيتم إلا المجلس فأعطوا الطريق حقه
If you must sit there, then give the pathway its due right.
They asked: "O Messenger of Allah (PBUH)! What is the right of the pathway?" He (PBUH) said:
غض البصر، وكف الأذى، ورد السلام، والأمر بالمعروف، والنهي عن المنكر
Lowering the gaze, not causing harm, returning greetings, enjoining good, and forbidding evil.

② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Baraa (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) passed by some Ansaris sitting in the pathway and said:
إن كنتم لا بد فاعلين فردوا السلام، وأعينوا المظلوم، واهدوا السبيل
If you must necessarily sit, then return the greeting, help the oppressed, and show the way.
