This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, which has been translated into Urdu by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa رضي الله عنه that the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
"Protect and take care of this Quran. By the One in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad It is more severe in forgetting than a camel that is tied with a rope."

② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
"The owner (memorizer) of the Quran is like a tied camel; if he watches over it and takes care of it, he will control it, and if he lets it go, it will run away."

③ Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه states that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
"If a person says that he has forgotten such and such verse, this is bad. Rather, it has been forgotten from him. Protect the Quran, for it is more severe in slipping from the hearts of men than animals slipping from their ropes."

① Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say:
"Allah Almighty listens attentively to the recitation of the Holy Quran by His Prophet with a good voice, but He does not listen attentively to anything else in the same way."

"(O Abu Musa!) You have been given the melodious voice like that of the family of Dawud (David, peace be upon him)."

① Sayyiduna Sahl bin Mu'adh Jahni narrates from his father, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
"Whoever reads the Quran and acts upon it, on the Day of Resurrection, his parents will be crowned with a crown whose brightness will be better than the brightness of the sun in the houses of the world if that (sun were with you without any distance). Now what do you think about the status and rank of the person who has also acted according to it?"
