Praying Two Rak‘ahs at Maqām Ibrāhīm After Completing Ṭawāf, Then Touching the Ḥajar al-Aswad Again

Written by: Imran Ayub Lahori

Sayyiduna Jābir رضي الله عنه narrates:

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached Maqām Ibrāhīm, he recited the verse:

وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَّقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى [Al-Baqarah: 125]
“…And take the Maqām Ibrāhīm as a place of prayer.”

He then performed two rak‘ahs. In these rak‘ahs, he recited Sūrah al-Fātiḥah, Qul yā ayyuhal kāfirūn, and Qul huwa Allāhu aḥad.

After that, ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَى الرُّكْنِ فَاسْتَلَمَهُhe returned to the corner (Ḥajar al-Aswad) and touched it.
Then the Prophet ﷺ proceeded towards Ṣafā.
