Prayers During Wudu

Written by: Shaykh Mubashir Ahmad Rabbani (Hafizahullah)

Question:

Is there any prayer proven from the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) to be recited during wudu (ablution)?

Answer:
According to authentic ahadith, it is proven to recite “Bismillah” at the beginning of wudu and to recite the following dua at the end:

[Tirmidhi, Kitab al-Taharah, Bab Ma Yuqal Ba’d al-Wudu: 55]

As for reciting specific words or phrases after washing each part of the body during wudu, there is no evidence for this practice in any authentic or reliable hadith.
