"People have perished," Masha Allah wa Masha Fulan and the prohibition of saying "Jasht Nafsi"

This excerpt is taken from Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mosuli's Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnooat.

Prohibition of a person saying "People are destroyed"

① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
إذا سمعتم الرجل يقول: هلك الناس فهو أهلكهم
"When you hear a person saying 'People are destroyed,' then he is the most destroyed among them all."
Reference: Muslim, Kitab al-Birr 4 / 2024, Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Adab 4983.

Abu Ishaq رحمه الله states, I do not know whether the fatha on the kaf in "أَهْلَكَهُمْ" means "He destroyed them" or the kasra on the kaf in "أَهْلَكُهُمْ" means "He is the most destroyed among them all."

Prohibition of a person saying Masha Allah and Masha so-and-so

① Sayyiduna Hudhaifah رضي الله عنه narrates from the Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, who said:
لا تقولوا: ما شاء الله وشاء فلان، ولكن قولوا: ما شاء الله ثم شاء فلان
"Do not say 'Whatever Allah wills and whatever so-and-so wills,' rather say: 'Whatever Allah wills, then so-and-so wills.'"
Reference: Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Adab 4980, Musnad Ahmad, remaining Musnad al-Ansar 449/5, Hadith 23327.

Prohibition of saying "_جاشت نفسي" by a person

① Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunayf رضي الله عنه reports that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا يقولن أحدكم: خبثت نفسي، ولكن ليقول: لقست نفسي
"None of you should say: 'My soul has become evil,' rather say: 'My heart is uneasy.'"
Reference: Bukhari, Kitab al-Adab 6180, Muslim, Kitab al-Alfaz min al-Adab wa Ghayriha 2251/17.

② It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha رضي الله عنها that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا يقولن أحدكم: جاشت نفسي، ولكن لقست نفسي
"None of you should say 'جاشت نفسي', rather say: 'لقست نفسي' (both mean the same: heart palpitations)."
Reference: Bukhari, Kitab al-Adab 6179, Muslim, Kitab al-Alfaz min al-Adab wa Ghayriha 16 / 2250, Abu Dawood, Kitab al-Adab 4979.
