Hajj and Umrah: Order of Tawaf of the Ka‘bah and Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah

While performing Hajj or Umrah, should one first perform the Tawaf of the Ka‘bah or the Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah?
❖ Answer
In the method of Hajj and Umrah, one should first perform the Tawaf of the Ka‘bah and thereafter perform the Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah.
❀ ʿAllamah Ibn al-ʿArabi (رحمه الله, 543H) said:
لا خلاف بين العلماء أن الطواف بالبيت فى الحج والعمرة قبل السعي بين الصفا والمروة.
“There is no difference among the scholars that in Hajj and Umrah, Tawaf of the Ka‘bah is performed before the Sa‘i between Safa and Marwah.”
