This excerpt is taken from the book of Sheikh al-Islam Imam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, Al-Jawab al-Bahir fi Zuwar al-Maqabir, translated by Sheikh Ataullah Saqib.
Oneness of Allah Almighty
Tawheed (Oneness) of the Almighty Allah is abundantly present in the Holy Quran. Allah has no equal, nor can any comparison be made with Him. Because He is unique in His essence, attributes, and actions. And no one is worthy of worshiping Him, loving Him, relying on Him, obeying Him, or supplicating to Him. The Merciful Lord has stated:
"He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. So worship Him and be steadfast in His worship. Is there any being in your knowledge equal to Him?"
Reference: (19-Maryam:65)
Among all creation, there is none who shares a name with Allah, nor is anyone worthy of having their name taken from Allah’s names. Nor is there anyone whose name is semantically equal to His, such as Al-Hayy (The Ever-Living), Al-Qayyum (The Sustainer), Al-‘Alim (The All-Knowing), Al-Qadeer (The All-Powerful), etc. Nor is there anyone who is equal to Him in essence and existence. No one is worthy of being called Ilah (God), nor Rabb (Lord), nor Creator.
The Divine command is:
"Say, He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
Reference: (112-Al-Ikhlas:1-4)
From this noble verse, it is clear that Allah has no equal, no peer, no likeness, and no one comparable to Him.
Read the further Divine statements carefully:
"All praise is due to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light. Yet those who disbelieve equate others with their Lord."
Reference: (6-Al-An’am:1)
"Then the gods and those who went astray and the hosts of Iblis will all be gathered together in Hell, they will dispute there, and the misguided will say, 'By Allah, we were clearly in error when we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.'"
Reference: (26-Ash-Shu’ara:96-98)
Only Allah is the Provider
"And they worship besides Allah that which neither benefits them nor harms them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant. And Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth and so that every soul may be recompensed for what it earned, and they will not be wronged. So do not invent similitudes for Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know."
