Is Seeking Refuge from Trials (Fitnah) Necessary?

Is it necessary to seek refuge from trials (fitan)?
❖ Answer:
Yes, seeking refuge from trials is necessary. A Muslim must firmly believe that the only One who can protect him from trials is Allah Almighty.
There are numerous narrations reported from the Prophet ﷺ — to the level of maʿnawī tawātur (mass-transmitted in meaning) — in which he sought refuge from various trials.
Conclusion:A believer should regularly seek Allah’s protection from trials, as this was the consistent practice of the Prophet ﷺ.
