Sayyidunā Abū Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
Arabic:
أفضل الصيام بعد رمضان، شهر الله المحرم، وأفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة، صلاة الليل
Translation:
“The best fast after (the fasts of) Ramadan is the fast of the month of Allah, Muḥarram, and the best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer (Tahajjud).”
