Ḥadīth: “Most of the Hypocrites of My Ummah Will Be Its Qurra’ (Reciters)”

Question:
What is the authenticity of the following narration?
From Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr رضي الله عنهما, it is narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
أكثر منافقي أمتي قراؤها
"Most of the hypocrites of my Ummah will be its Qurra’ (reciters)."

Its chain of narration is Hasan (sound).
✿ Hafiz al-‘Uqayli رحمه الله regarded its chain as “Salih (good).”

al-Du‘afa’ al-Kabir 1/498, al-Ta’sil)✿ Explaining the meaning of this Hadith, Hafiz al-Baghawi رحمه الله (d. 516 AH) said:
هو أن يفاضل تارك الإخلاص فى العمل
"It means those who abandon sincerity in their deeds."

Thus, the Hadith is authentic in meaning and highlights that recitation without sincerity and humility becomes a sign of hypocrisy.
