Please explain the reality of the emergence of Dajjāl and the descent of ʿĪsā (عليه السلام) in the final era.
الحمد لله، والصلاة والسلام علىٰ رسول الله، أما بعد!
– The actual emergence of Dajjāl in the end times and the descent of ʿĪsā (عليه السلام) are both events that have been transmitted with absolute certainty through mutawātir (mass-transmitted) narrations.
– For this reason, both of these matters are included in the beliefs (‘Aqā’id) of Islam, and are mentioned in books of creed.
– However, the details related to Dajjāl—the specifics of his attributes, appearance, and events—have been transmitted through āḥād (solitary) reports, and therefore, these details do not reach the level of mutawātir.
– Within these details, some differences and variations also exist.
– The well-known narration about Dajjāl reported by Tameem al-Dāri through Fāṭimah bint Qays and recorded in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim and other sources,
– I have not come across any comprehensive scholarly explanation of this hadith in any classical or contemporary work.
– Similarly, neither early nor later scholars seem to have conducted a detailed analysis on this narration that I have personally encountered.
– The narrations concerning the Signs of the Hour (Ashrāṭ al-Sāʿah) that have been compiled in independent books,
– These compilations have mostly focused on gathering the narrations, without deep analytical commentary.
– I am also unaware of what Tajallīwāla (the scholar) may have written regarding the hadith of Tameem al-Dāri.
