عن سهل بن حنيف أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: من سأل الله الشهادة بصدق، بلغه الله منازل الشهداء ، وإن مات على فراشه .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suhail bin Hunayf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom, Allah will grant him the ranks of the martyrs, even if he dies on his bed."

عن أنس رضى الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : من طلب الشهادة صادقا أعطيها ولو لم تصبه .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever sincerely desires martyrdom, this status is granted to him, even if he does not attain martyrdom."

أنس بن مالك أن أم الربيع بنت البراء - وهى أم حارثة بن سراقة أنت النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم فقالت: يا نبي الله! ألا تحدثني عن حارثة؟ وكان قتل يوم بدر . أصابه سهم غرب فإن كان فى الجنة صبرت ، وإن كان غير ذلك اجتهدت عليه فى البكاء قال : يا أم حارثة إنها جنان فى الجنة ، وإن ابنك أصاب الفردوس الأعلى
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyida Umm Rabi' bint Bara' (may Allah be pleased with her) — who is the mother of Sayyiduna Haritha bin Suraqa (may Allah be pleased with him) — came to the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you not inform me about Haritha? He was martyred on the day of Badr. If he is in Paradise, I will be patient, and if there is any other matter, I will weep over it abundantly. He said: "O Umm Haritha! Paradise has many levels, and your son has reached the highest level of Paradise."

جابر ابن عبد الله يقول : جيء بأبي إلى النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قد مثل به، ووضع بين يديه ، فذهبت أكشف عن وجهه ، فنهاني قومي فقال النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم : ما زالت الملائكة تظله بأجنحتها .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: My father was brought to the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) after being mutilated and disfigured, and his body was placed before him. When I tried to remove the cloth from his face, some people stopped me. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The angels kept shading your father with their wings."

عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه عن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ما أحد يدخل الجنة يحب أن يرجع إلى الدنيا وله ما على الأرض من شيء إلا الشهيد يتمنى أن يرجع إلى الدنيا فيقتل عشر مرات لما يرى من الكرامة .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "There is no person who enters Paradise who would prefer to return to the world again, even if he were given all the treasures of the world. However, the martyr will wish to return to the world and be martyred ten times in the way of Allah. Because the martyr has witnessed the excellence and status with Allah firsthand."
