A prostitute asks Zayd to help her leave her sinful profession and to marry her. Should Zayd marry her or not?
If the woman is genuinely repentant and truly wishes to leave her immoral profession, then Zayd should marry her.
➤ Doing so would be a great act of virtue.
وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى
[Sūrah al-Mā’idah: 2]
Translation:
“And cooperate with one another in righteousness and piety.”
➤ If the woman sincerely repents and wishes to reform, marrying her is encouraged.
➤ Assisting someone in abandoning sin and building a righteous life is a noble act of taqwā.
➤ Zayd would be participating in rewardable cooperation in good.
