This excerpt is taken from the Arabic book Al-Awamer wal-Nawahi by Sheikh Hussain bin Mubarak Al-Mawsili, whose Urdu translation has been done by Muhammad Sarwar Gohar Sahib under the title Ahkamat o Mamnoaat.
Prohibition of Committing Major Sins
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
اجتنبوا السبع الموبقات
“Beware of the seven destructive sins.”
It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are they? He (PBUH) said:
الشرك بالله، والسحر، وقتل النفس التى حرم الله إلا بالحق، وأكل مال اليتيم، وأكل الربا، والتولي يوم الزحف، وقذف المحصنات الغافلات المؤمنات
“Associating partners with Allah, sorcery, killing a soul unjustly which Allah has forbidden to kill, consuming the wealth of an orphan, consuming usury, fleeing from the battlefield, and slandering chaste, unaware believing women.”

Prohibition of Consuming the Wealth of an Orphan
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
اجتنبوا السبع الموبقات
“Beware of seven destructive things.”
It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What are they? He said:
الشرك بالله، والسحر، وقتل النفس التى حرم الله إلا بالحق، وأكل مال اليتيم، وأكل الربا، والتولي يوم الزحف، وقذف المحصنات المؤمنات الغافلات
“Associating partners with Allah, magic, killing a soul which Allah has forbidden except by right, consuming the wealth of an orphan, consuming usury, fleeing from the battlefield, and slandering chaste believing women.”

Prohibition of Persisting in Drinking Alcohol
① Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
ثلاثة لا ينظر الله إليهم يوم القيامة: العاق لوالديه، والمرأة المترجلة، والديوث، وثلاثة لا يدخلون الجنة: العاق لوالديه، والمدمن الخمر، والمنان بما أعطى
“Three types of people Allah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection (with mercy): the disobedient to parents, a woman who imitates men, and a shameless person. And three types of people will not enter Paradise: the disobedient to parents, one who persists in drinking alcohol, and one who gives something to show off.”

Prohibition of Expressing Evil
① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Utbah bin Mas'ud رضي الله عنه narrates, I heard Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab رضي الله عنه say:
"During the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, people were held accountable through revelation. Now the chain of revelation has been cut off, so whoever shows goodness and righteousness before us, we will grant him peace, confirm him, and bring him close to us, and we have no concern with his hidden matters. And whoever shows evil before us, we will neither grant him peace nor confirm him, even if he claims that his inner self is pure."
