The Command to Love the People of Faith

After Allah and the Messenger ﷺ, it is obligatory to love and befriend all the people of faith.

[Your allies are none but Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish prayer and give zakah, and they bow down] , [And whoever is an ally to Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed - indeed, the party of Allah - they will be the predominant.]
Reference: Surah Al-Ma'idah: 55-56

Loving the Ansar is obligatory upon all the people of faith.

Sayyiduna Bara’ رضي الله عنه says: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Only a believer will love the Ansar, and only a hypocrite will harbor hatred towards them. So whoever loves the Ansar, Allah will love him, and whoever harbors hatred towards the Ansar, Allah will harbor hatred towards him."
Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari: 3783

Loving and respecting all the Companions رضي الله عنهم is obligatory upon the people of faith.

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Do not speak ill of my companions, do not speak ill of my companions. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if any one of you were to spend gold equal to the size of Mount Uhud, he would not attain the reward equal to a mudd (approximately one kilogram) or half a mudd of the reward of my companions.
Reference: Sahih Muslim:2540

All believers should love one another.

Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: You will not enter Paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I not tell you something which, if you do, you will love one another? Spread peace (saying salaam) abundantly among yourselves.
Reference: Sahih Muslim:54

Allah Almighty loves the Muslims.

(O Muslims!) You are the best community raised for the good of people; you enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong, and you believe in Allah.
Reference: Surah Al-Imran:110

Allah loves those who fight in His cause in ranks as if they were a solid wall of steel.
Reference: (Surah As-Saff:4)

Those who believe and do righteous deeds—there is no blame upon them for what they ate before their faith, if they fear Allah and remain steadfast in faith and do righteous deeds, avoid what is forbidden, and have certainty in it, and practice piety and do good to others. (So they should know that) Allah loves those who do good.

When Sulaiman heard the speech of the ant, he smiled and prayed to Allah: O my Lord! Grant me the ability to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteous deeds that please You, and include me by Your mercy among the righteous servants.

O my Lord! You have granted me authority and knowledge of the interpretation of dreams. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. In this world and the Hereafter, You are my Guardian. Let my end be upon Islam and include me among the righteous.

The love of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for all the believers.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas رضي الله عنهما that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم recited the verse in which Sayyiduna Ibrahim عليه السلام said, "O my Lord! These idols have led many people astray, so whoever follows me is with me, and whoever disobeys me—indeed, You are Forgiving, Merciful."

Then he recited the verse in which Sayyiduna Isa عليه السلام said, "If You punish them, they are Your servants; and if You forgive them, indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Then the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم raised both hands and said: "O Allah! My Ummah, O Allah! My Ummah." And he began to weep. Allah Almighty commanded Sayyiduna Jibra'il عليه السلام: "O Jibra'il! Go to Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and ask why he is crying? And your Lord knows well why he is crying." So Jibra'il عليه السلام came and asked: "Why are you crying?" Then Sayyiduna Jibra'il عليه السلام returned and informed Allah Almighty, although Allah already knew well. Then Allah عزوجل said: "O Jibra'il! Go to Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and say: We will make you pleased concerning your Ummah and will not anger you."
