① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Hisham رضي الله عنه narrates, we were with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and he was holding the hand of Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه. Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه said to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم:
"O Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! You are more beloved to me than my own life." The Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
لا ، والذي نفسي بيده ، حتى أكون أحب إليك من نفسك
"No! By the One in Whose hand is my life, I will become more beloved to you than your own life."
Then Sayyiduna Umar رضي الله عنه said to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم:
"Now by Allah! You are more beloved to me than my own life." So the Noble Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
الآن يا عمر
"Now, O Umar!"

② Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say:
لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى أكون أحب إليه من والده وولده والناس أجمعين
"None of you can be a true believer until I am more beloved to him than his father, his children, and all mankind."

① Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه narrates that when the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم was outside the mosque, a man met us in the field in front of the mosque and asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: "When will the Day of Judgment come?" The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
"What have you prepared for it?"
The man seemed helpless and then said:
"O Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! I have prepared many fasts for it, but neither prayers nor charity. However, I love Allah and His Messenger صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم."
The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
"Then you will be with those whom you love."
