What is the Islamic ruling regarding eating while standing — such as consuming cardamom, betel (paan), peanuts, roasted seeds, candies, etc.?


✅ Answer:​


Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʾAmma baʿd!


◈ It is better and more virtuous to eat such items while sitting — whether it be cardamom, betel, peanuts, roasted seeds, candies, or similar things.


◈ According to Islamic teachings, general guidance emphasizes conducting eating and drinking with dignity and calmness.


◈ The Sunnah method is also to sit while eating, reflecting manners and discipline.
