The Sharʿī Method of Shrouding a Man or Woman (Kafan)

What is the correct Islamic method of giving kafan (shroud) to the deceased, whether male or female?
❖ Answer
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd:
The procedure for shrouding both a man and a woman is as follows:
✿ First, spread the kafan cloths flat on the ground.
✿ Then place the deceased upon these cloths.
✿ After that, wrap the kafan around the deceased.
✿ Begin the wrapping from the right side of the deceased.
Hādhā mā ʿindī, wallāhu aʿlam bis-ṣawāb.
