Disciplining Slaves by Beating in Islam

It is permissible to beat a slave for discipline and training purposes, provided it does not exceed ten lashes.
[Nayl al-Awṭār 4/154]
The Prophet ﷺ said:
إذا ضرب أحدكم خادمه فليحتنب الوجه
“When any of you beats his servant (for discipline), he should avoid the face.”
