What is the Islamic ruling on working with or through Amazon?
Amazon functions as a marketplace platform where a wide range of goods and services are bought and sold. The Shar‘i ruling depends on the nature of the work being performed.
✔ If a person is engaged in:
then working through or with Amazon is permissible, and no Shar‘i objection applies.
✘ If the nature of the work includes:
then such employment or business is not permissible in Islam.
✔ Working with Amazon is permissible as long as your job or business activity involves ḥalāl products and services.
✘ Any involvement with prohibited goods or services must be strictly avoided.

➊ Permissible Work (Ḥalāl)

- Selling permissible (ḥalāl) items
- Offering legitimate services
- Involvement in ethical business activities
then working through or with Amazon is permissible, and no Shar‘i objection applies.
➋ Impermissible Work (Ḥarām)
✘ If the nature of the work includes:
- Selling ḥarām or unethical products (e.g., alcohol, prohibited food items, immoral content)
- Promoting or facilitating un-Islamic services
then such employment or business is not permissible in Islam.
