❀ Ḥāfiẓ Ibn al-Mulaqqin رحمه الله (804 AH):
تثليث غسل الوجه، والإجماع قائم على سنيته
“Washing the face three times is Sunnah, and there is consensus on this.”

Conclusion:- Minimum once = obligatory.
