Assalam aalekum.
Is this Hadith authentic?

‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said [regarding the lowest Jannati], he will go forward then a hallowed out pearl made up of green emerald will be opened in which there are 70 doors, each door will have a wife sitting upon cushions and female slaves. The lowest among them will be hur ‘ayn which will be wearing 70 different colours of garment.

‘Umar said to Ka’b (radiyallahu ‘anhuma), O Ka’b do you hear what Ibn Mas’ud is saying about lowest Jannati, what will be then for highest Jannati. Ka’b replied, for the highest Jannati is what no eye has seen no ears have heard, Allah has placed in highest Jannah as many fruits, wives and bounties in it and then sealed it.

Wa ʿalaykum as‑salām wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,

The ḥadīth in reference is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ).

  • Al-Albānī (رحمه الله) classified it as ṣaḥīḥ in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Jāmiʻ (no. 3704). He explained that it was reported by Ibn Abī Ad-Dunyā, al-Ṭabarānī, and al-Ḥākim as a marfūʻ report (directly attributed to the Prophet ﷺ) from Ibn Masʻūd (رضي الله عنه).
  • The latter part of the narration, from the words “Allah, the Exalted, has created a house therein …” until the end, is actually mawqūf (stopped at the level of the Companion) from Kaʻb.
  • One of the versions narrated by al-Ṭabarānī is ṣaḥīḥ, and it is this wording that he cited. Al-Ḥākim also said the isnād (chain) is ṣaḥīḥ.
  • Al-Haythamī (رحمه الله) said that al-Ṭabarānī reported it with different chains, and the narrators of one of those chains were approved by al-Bukhārī, except Abū Khālid al-Dālī, who was still regarded as trustworthy by the ḥadīth scholars (Majmaʻ az-Zawā’id).
  • A shorter wording of this narration also appears in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim from Ibn Masʻūd (رضي الله عنه).

👉 Conclusion: The narration is ṣaḥīḥ (authentic) in meaning, with parts of it marfūʻ (Prophet’s words ﷺ) and the ending portion mawqūf (from Kaʻb).

And Allah knows best.
